Paradise Banquet Hall, one of Vaughan's most sought-after Hospitality and Event Centre, is looking for a professional to be part of our exciting culinary team.
We are looking for a Cook to join our team. The schedule will be Thursday to Sundays. YOU MUST BE AVAILABLE THESE DAYS and YOU MUST HAVE KITCHEN EXPERIENCE.
Job Summary
Cook is responsible for:
- Preparing, through to completion, menu items according to given specifications with an eye for presentation and quality
- Communicating with management prior to shift regarding daily menu needs, special functions, or events for the day
- Ensuring kitchen is ready before event start (i.e., sanitizes work area, stock work area, prepare raw ingredients)
- Preparing food items to company standards while also accommodating guest's special requests
- Inspecting food orders to ensure proper plate presentation, portioning and recipe adherence prior to sending food out to guests
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year kitchen experience, preferably in a banquet hall environment
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Have a level of knife skills and be able to work safely in a kitchen environment
- Be able to work in a fast-paced kitchen area producing high quality products
- Detail orientated and a quick learner, follow direction from Head Chef and management
- Perform kitchen duties in accordance with food safety and cleanliness guidelines.
