As we head into our busy summer and patio season, we are looking for a skilled, energetic, and passionate Line Cook to join our dedicated kitchen team.
Job Summary:
The Line Cook will be responsible for preparing and executing high-quality dishes according to our recipes and presentation standards. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, possesses strong knife skills, and is a team player who can maintain consistency during peak dinner rushes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and stock stations with all necessary prep items and supplies.
- Prepare and execute menu items in cooperation with the kitchen team during high-volume lunch and dinner rushes.
- Ensure all food items are cooked to proper temperatures and plated according to restaurant standards.
- Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized workstation at all times, adhering to Ontario Food Safety Regulations.
- Monitor food quality, portion control, and minimize food waste.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of proven experience as a Line Cook in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
- Cuisine Knowledge: Familiarity with Ukrainian or Eastern European cuisine is a strong asset.
- Language Skills: English (Basic/Functional) AND Ukrainian (Fluent/Spoken) is required for seamless inner-kitchen communication, team coordination, and recipe execution.
- Availability: Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Legal Status: Must be legally authorized to work in Canada (Valid Work Permit, PR, or Canadian Citizenship).
- Reliability: Strong punctuality and reliable transportation to/from our Oakville location (accessible by Oakville Transit, but a personal vehicle is preferred for late-night shifts).
- Food Handler Certificate is an asset (or willingness to obtain one).
