Sr. Heavy Equipment Technician (Manufacturing – Material Handling / Crane & Forklift) | $40–$60/hr | Oakville, ON
Join a leading equipment manufacturer in Oakville, ON as a Senior Heavy Equipment Technician within the Manufacturing Department. This is a full-time, shop-based role focused on the assembly, installation, testing, and quality control of new and rebuilt material handling equipment including cranes, forklifts, and related heavy industrial systems.
This position plays a key role in the manufacturing process, ensuring equipment is built, installed, and tested to the highest quality and safety standards before delivery.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Perform engine and hydraulic system installations on new and rebuilt equipment
- Install major components on cranes, forklifts, and material handling machinery
- Read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics for build and installation work
- Conduct equipment testing, inspection, and quality control checks
- Ensure all work is completed safely and to manufacturing specifications
- Mentor and support junior technicians and apprentices
- Contribute to continuous improvement within the manufacturing process
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of hands-on heavy equipment experience
- Strong experience with material handling equipment (forklifts, cranes) preferred
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems
- Strong engine and drivetrain understanding
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Experience with safe lifting and installation procedures
- Leadership ability with willingness to mentor junior technicians
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Valid driver’s license required

Schedule
- Day Shift: 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM (Monday–Friday)
- 42.5-hour work week
