Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Wedding Planning & Coordination Assistant to support both the planning process and execution of beautiful wedding events. This is an entry-level, hands-on role ideal for someone looking to gain experience in the wedding and events industry.
The ideal candidate is reliable, positive, and eager to learn, with a strong work ethic and an eye for detail. This role involves working closely with a team lead to help bring wedding visions to life while ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for both clients and guests.
This role is perfect for students, creatives, or anyone looking to explore the wedding and events industry in a hands-on, supportive environment.
Duties
- Assist with wedding day setup and takedown, including décor, tables, and layout execution
- Support the lead coordinator throughout the event day
- Follow timelines and assist in keeping the event running smoothly
- Help with styling details such as place settings, signage, and décor placement
- Carry and move event items (tables, chairs, décor, etc.) as needed
- Provide support to vendors and assist with general event logistics
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the venue throughout the event
- Assist with light planning tasks as needed (organization, prep, basic logistics)
- Occasionally assist with offsite weddings around South Vancouver Island
- Be proactive in identifying tasks and stepping in where support is needed
Qualifications
- No prior wedding experience required (training provided)
- Background in hospitality, customer service, or restaurant work is an asset
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to take direction well and work as part of a team
- Physically able to stand for extended periods and lift/move items when needed
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliable transportation is an asset

Important Details
This is a subcontractor position, which means:
- You will invoice for your hours worked
- You are responsible for your own taxes
- Hours will be tracked internally for accuracy
Pay: $21.00-$25.00 per hour
