We are currently seeking a Chef / Kitchen Manager to lead kitchen operations at our Castlegar Chances location.
This role is responsible for day-to-day kitchen leadership, supporting food quality standards, and working closely with the Food & Beverage Manager to ensure smooth service across regular operations, promotions, and events.
You will play a key role in building a consistent, efficient kitchen while supporting and developing your team.

Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth service and consistent food quality

Work with leadership to support menu planning, pricing, and cost control initiatives

Lead, train, and support kitchen staff, fostering skill development and accountability

Maintain safe food handling practices and ensure compliance with all health and safety standards

Manage ordering processes, supplier relationships, and inventory control

Support scheduling and staffing decisions based on business needs and volume

Collaborate on banquet service, specials, promotions, and seasonal menu changes

Contribute to performance management processes including coaching and corrective action when required

Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and support revenue growth

Minimum 2+ years in a kitchen leadership or supervisory role

Valid Food Safe Level 2 certification (or equivalent)

Strong leadership and communication skills with a hands-on approach

Ability to stay organized and effective in a high-volume environment

Confidence in coaching, training, and supporting staff development

Working knowledge of inventory control, purchasing, and cost management

Strong attention to detail and commitment to consistent food quality

Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and service demands

Red Seal certification considered an asset

Ability to successfully obtain a Gaming Policy and Enforcement Branch criminal record check

Competitive salary starting at $58,000–$60,000 plus bonus program
