The Muslim Association of Canada (MAC) is a nationally incorporated charity with chapters in 13 cities across Canada. MAC Islamic School is looking for a dynamic and self-motivated person to fill the position of a Principal to achieve goals, priorities and expectations of the management committee. The Principal’s duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Plan, manage and supervise the school’s operations and instructional programs.

Plan and implement the school’s strategic plan and three-year goals

Collaborate in the preparation, presentation, monitoring of the school budget

Organize the school personnel and physical resources to meet the learning needs of the students

Supervision and evaluation of the teachers and the support staff
-
Support teachers in classroom management, discipline and curriculum delivery
-
Communicate proactively and positively with staff, students and parents and provide constructive feedback when it is required

Chair regular staff meetings, academic and leadership meetings
Qualifications:
-
Valid Alberta leadership certificate and Alberta teaching certificate
-
Masters in Educational Leadership or curriculum instruction from an accredited educational institution

Minimum 10 years of teaching experience (preferably in Alberta)

Minimum 3 years of instructional leadership experience, preferably in a North American school

Sound knowledge of Islamic faith and practice

Strong desire for teaching and learning

Sound knowledge of Islam and Islamic educational philosophy

Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills

An understanding of and commitment to collaborative leadership

Tact and insight when dealing with conflicts

The ability to supervise teachers and provide clear directions and constructive feedback

The ability to earn the respect of and work with a diverse student population
