Only applicants with a minimum 7 years of previous elevator mechanic experience will be considered. Applicants will be required to provide proof of current TSSA EDM-A or TSBC certification or proven equivalent. Only resumes in English will be accepted.
- Maintenance, repair/modernization, construction of elevators, escalators and moving walkways
- Ensure all elevator maintenance is completed, assigned route is optimized and running smoothly
- On call duties in conjunction with other certified mechanics once familiar with the area
- Interpretation and reading of blueprints and schematics
- Perform alongside team, all preparatory work for elevator modernization and repairs and full completion of each project including passing government inspections if necessary
- Installation and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical and electronic systems. Testing newly installed equipment
- Teaching and mentoring existing elevator mechanics and apprentices how to perform proper installations, modernizations and repairs. Training apprentices in order to grow them into well-rounded mechanics
- Assist with company growth by sharing of best practices and expert knowledge in the trade, including technical support with field staff.
- Disassemble defective units and repair or replace suspect parts
- Adjust valves, ratchets, seals, brake linings and other components
- Carry out elevator preventative maintenance programs to ensure public safety
