About the Role
sparkAV is looking to add a Senior Systems Integrator to our Projects Team. Based in the field, the Senior Systems Integrator takes responsibility for the installation of the AV systems that our design team creates for our clients. We deal with all the AV industry’s leading manufacturers, so familiarity of their product lines is required. As a Senior Systems Integrator you understand the “how to’s” of what we do – build out racks, all cabling (including fiber), control systems (audio and video), proficiency with reading drawings, specifications, and general construction. As the Senior Systems Integrator you can take direction, while working along-side a team. You enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and don’t shy away from the physicality of this position. You know that in our industry there is always more to learn and are willing to take on that challenge.
What You Will Do
- Lead the installation and configuration of AV systems, including video conferencing, sound reinforcement, digital signage, and control systems.
- Interpret technical schematics, wiring diagrams, and system layouts to ensure accurate implementation of designs.
- Install all aspects of a project from the pre-wiring stage to the finish stage, installing equipment in and to wall surfaces and tables in all ways as required.
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards using industry best practices.
- Collaborate with clients and project teams to develop system layouts that meet operational needs.
- Upload and troubleshoot code for Crestron, Extron, AMX Biamp /Audio (DSP) equipment.
- Provide training and technical support to clients on system operation and troubleshooting procedures.
- Conduct maintenance and routine inspections of AV equipment and cabling to ensure optimal performance.
- Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, schematics, and service records.
- Utilize hand tools and electrical knowledge to assemble, wire, and troubleshoot low voltage systems safely and efficiently.
- Perform software troubleshooting to resolve system errors or malfunctions promptly.
Who You Are

- Exceptional time-management and problem-solving / troubleshooting skills with the ability to engage our Vendor(s) Technical Support departments remotely
- Excellent interpersonal skills, self-motivated with high level of dedication, team player, capable of accepting responsibility, and willing to undertake team mentorship.
- Knowledge of telecommunication infrastructure including cabling standards and network integration.
- Strong understanding of AV signal flows and how AV systems behave on enterprise networks
- Deep working knowledge of Q-Sys, Dante, A VoIP, digital signage platforms, and Avixa standards.
- Proven experience with AV system integration in commercial or institutional settings including solution-based installation within the ProAV, Unified Communications (UC), or ICAT industries, with a very strong knowledge of how to implement solutions that run Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Zoom, and Cisco WebEx.
- Knowledge of performance lighting systems is an asset.
- Mechanical knowledge related to mounting hardware, enclosures, and physical installation of AV equipment.
- Familiarity with computer hardware components relevant to AV systems.
- Experience troubleshooting software issues within AV control platforms or related applications.
- Hands-on experience with hand tools used for electrical assembly and maintenance tasks.
Qualifications & Requirements
- AVIXA CTS / CTS-D / CTS-I, ANP, Microsoft 721, MS 700 certification is preferred (or willingness to earn post-hire is required).
- 5+ years of Field experience in Professional Audio-Visual Installation and Unified Communications with a strong understanding of productsfrom Crestron, Q-SYS, Extron, AMX, Biamp, Shure, Yealink, Neat, Logitech, Lenovo, HP/Poly, Cisco, etc. including how they work and connect as well as holding relevant certifications issued by these manufacturers and others.
- Valid driver's license in good standing; Vehicle for transportation required
- Working at Heights Certificate (Training will be provided as required)
- Background check - required to work at some client locations - Security clearance for government-related work is an asset
- Possess own Tools, steel-toed safety boots, Hard hat, Safety glasses, Safety vest.
- Experience with or ability to quickly learn ERP systems such as Jetbuilt and SmartSheet.
- Excellent fluency in English (written and spoken) with bilingualism English/French being an asset.

- Flexibility to work outside of business hours to meet customer commitments (if necessary)
- Lift heavy gear and equipment
- Occasional travel may be required
- Hours: Work is based on a 40hr week but may require longer work hours at certain points of the work cycle
