Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Summer Camp Nurse (Temporary/Seasonal, RN or RPN) to provide essential healthcare services to campers and staff during the summer season. This role is vital in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of all participants at our camp. Duties
- Provide first aid and emergency care to campers and staff as needed.
- Administer medications according to prescribed instructions, ensuring proper documentation.
- Monitor health conditions of campers, including managing minor illnesses or injuries.
- Maintain accurate health records and confidentiality of medical information.
- Collaborate with camp leadership to implement health protocols.
- Conduct health assessments upon arrival and as required throughout the camp session
- Educate campers on health and safety practices.
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies, coordinating with emergency services when necessary.
Qualifications
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Practical Nurse (RPN)
- Proven experience in patient care, preferably in pediatric or camp settings
- Knowledge of medical terminology and medication administration procedures
- Ability to handle medical emergencies calmly and efficiently
- Strong communication skills for interacting with children, parents, staff, and healthcare providers
- Compassionate attitude with a focus on camper safety and well-being
- Flexibility to work during the summer season on a temporary basis, including weekends if required
