The Viscount Gort Hotel is looking for Banquets Captain to oversee events (including weekend events), handle and delegate set-up and breakdown of function rooms and take care of the customer in a timely, courteous, efficient and customized manner. All functions are carried out to maintain an environment of teamwork.
- Previous Banquet Serving Experience 1-3+ years
- Oversee events.
- Set-up and breakdown all function rooms.
- Act as the contact person for the customer.
- Act in a timely manner through whatever systems are currently used.
- Communicate with support crew and management.
- Supervise banquet functions to ensure they run smoothly and efficiently.
- Establishes professional and courteous rapport with guest to maximize satisfaction and repeat business
- Attention to detail and organization
- Coordinates servicing of special guest requirements through other departments and outside sources as required
- Provides food and beverage service to guests in the banquet rooms and/or restaurant
- Set tables
- Serves food, coffee, water and other beverages; refills beverages as needed
- Clears tables throughout the dining experience using proper methods for removing dishes, glassware and silverware
- Cooperates closely with other servers to meet and exceed guests’ expectations
- Communicate additions or changes to the assignments as they arise throughout the shift
- Instruct designated employees to rectify any cleanliness/organization deficiencies
- Perform other duties as assigned.
