Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Carpenter/Labourer to join our construction team. This role involves a variety of carpentry and general labour tasks on diverse projects, requiring hands-on experience with both traditional and modern building techniques. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with blueprint reading, power tools, hand tools, and various construction materials. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to high-quality projects in residential, commercial, or restoration settings, supporting the creation and renovation of structures with precision and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Interpret and work from blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to ensure accurate project execution
- Perform concrete forming, rebar installation, and masonry work as needed
- Assist with cabinet installation, flooring installation, tile laying, siding, roofing, and siding projects
- Operate power tools and hand tools safely to cut, shape, assemble, and install building components
- Execute construction painting, caulking, and finishing tasks to meet quality standards
- Support plumbing and electrical work where required, adhering to safety protocols
- Handle heavy lifting and material movement efficiently across job sites
- Assist in construction estimating by providing accurate measurements and material requirements
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time and within specifications
Requirements
- Proven experience in carpentry, woodworking, or general construction labour roles
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics accurately
- Familiarity with concrete forming, masonry, roofing, siding, flooring installation, tile laying, rebar installation, and cabinetry is preferred
- Experience with hand tools, power tools (such as CNC equipment), and construction equipment is essential
- Knowledge of construction estimating processes is a plus
- Skills in plumbing or electrical work are advantageous but not mandatory
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work at heights or in confined spaces as needed
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship
- Reliable transportation to job sites; valid driver’s license is preferred but not required
- Demonstrated handyman experience or experience in restoration projects is beneficial
