Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Warehouse and Logistics Assistant to support our distribution center operations. This role involves managing inventory, operating heavy equipment, and ensuring efficient shipping and receiving processes. The ideal candidate will have warehouse experience, mechanical knowledge, and familiarity with warehouse management systems. This position offers an opportunity to work with heavy machinery such as forklifts, cranes, and reach trucks in a fast-paced environment focused on order fulfillment and logistics support.
Duties
- Manage equipment, materials, and spare parts for our construction sites
- Oversee and update the warehouse inventory
- Schedule maintenance for our fleet of pickups, trucks, and equipment
Experience
- Previous warehouse experience is highly preferred, especially with order fulfillment, shipping & receiving, or manufacturing environments
- Mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment operation such as forklifts, cranes, or reach trucks is advantageous
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems like AS400 or similar platforms is a plus
- Experience with order picking, packaging, and load & unload procedures in a distribution setting
- Ability to operate heavy machinery including forklift trucks and cranes safely and efficiently
- Knowledge of warehouse distribution processes and inventory control practices
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting tasks regularly and stand for extended periods during shifts
