Precision Well Servicing is seeking a Shop Foreman to work out of our Red Deer facility. A Shop Foreman is a front-line supervisor: a person who plans, organizes, and controls the operations of the shop; supervises, trains, and develops staff; provides advice to management and staff; and performs other duties as outlined below:
Role Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist in ensuring that standard enforcement of all rules and regulations is enforced in the shop. All shop personnel and other employees working in the shop or yard must always use the proper PPE and follow company safe work procedures.
- Ensure daily safety and pre-job hazard assessments are being conducted by all mechanics. Ensure all “Out OF Scope” work is proceeded by a specific hazard assessment on the task to be completed.
- Assist in ensuring that all operations conducted within PWS facility follow the company policies and government regulations to the best of their ability.
- Ensure all purchase order protocol is adhered to.
- Quality control of all equipment that is associated with the branch. This also includes project work or inter branch transfer from other stations It is the shop foreman's responsibility to check equipment for adequate field readiness prior to equipment leaving the yard.
- Ensure DOT and CAOEC requirements are followed and adhered to.
- Assist in ensuring that all safety and environment tools are always in their proper place and in good condition. These include Manuals, fire alarms, fire extinguishers, dust / vapor masks, first aid kits, logbooks, eye wash stations, spill absorbents, fall arrest and so on.
- Ensure that shop personnel are warned about any hazards that may be present, or that may occur during any phase of operation as well as document.
- Ensure that hazardous materials are removed and disposed of per Government regulations. For EG: batteries, oils, rags, WHIMS control products and containers, etc.
- Dispatching shop staff as well including self to the field for support / service calls and arranging their on call rotation.
- Scheduling equipment coming through the shop and delegating assigned work in the shop (under supervision of the TSC Manager).
- Working closely with management in scheduling project work in a respectable and timely manner.
- Responsible for weekly parts inventories and ordering of stock, upon approval of TSC Manager.
- Responsible for shop and yard safety, providing work orders as well as orientations of third-party companies or new employees working in our yard. This also includes housekeeping.
- Monthly shop inspections as well as weekly equipment inventories.
- Initiating safety reporting, support ongoing investigations.
- Other duties as required.
- Mechanical duties (pulling wrenches)
- Hold and maintain the CVIP license for the shop.
Education & Experience:
- Knowledge of the company policies, procedures, and guidelines for operations.
- Knowledgeable in equipment requirements, function and understanding of repair/maintenance practices.
- 10 + years' Industry experience, specifically with service rigs.
- 10 + years' experience as a Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician.
- 3 + years of supervisory experience.
