Position Overview:
We are seeking a friendly, reliable, and versatile Cafe Team Member to join our team. This role involves being cross trained for both front of house and back of house, providing excellent customer service while also assisting with food and beverage preparation. The ideal candidate is adaptable, enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in maintaining a welcoming and clean cafe space.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet customers, take orders, and process payments accurately.
- Prepare and serve hot and cold beverages, including specialty coffees.
- Food preparation, plating, and service.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of both front-of-house and kitchen areas.
- Restock supplies, condiments, and display items as needed.
- Clear tables, wash dishes, and ensure a tidy work environment.
- Follow health, safety, and hygiene standards at all times.
- Support team members in daily operations, adapting to different roles as required.
- Provide friendly, efficient, and consistent customer service.
- Other duties, as required
Skills & Attributes:
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Restaurant/Cafe experience considered an asset.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in hospitality or customer service preferred.
- Food Safety/Handling Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
- Must be able to shovel snow.
- Must be able to work day shifts and weekend shifts.
