We are looking for an energetic, detail-oriented Junior Draftsperson to join our growing engineering team in Edmonton, Alberta reporting to the Engineering Manager.
Job Overview
As a Junior Draftsperson, you will work closely with our Senior Engineers and Product Designers to transform conceptual designs into precise, manufacturable 3D models and 2D fabrication drawings. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional to gain hands-on experience in oil and gas equipment design and manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities
- Create detailed 3D parts, assemblies, and production-ready 2D manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks.
- Generate Bill of Materials (BOMs) and accurately input engineering data into our ERP system.
- Revise and update existing technical drawings based on engineering change requests and shop feedback.
- Ensure all designs conform to industry standards (API, ASME, ANSI) and company drafting protocols.
- Collaborate directly with the shop floor fabrication team to troubleshoot design intent and support the manufacturing process.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Diploma in Engineering Design and Drafting Technology (EDDT), Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related discipline.
- Software: Strong, hands-on proficiency with SolidWorks (experience with SolidWorks PDM is an asset).
- Industry Knowledge: Basic understanding of oil and gas equipment, structural steel fabrication, or machining processes.
- Technical Skills: Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints, welding symbols, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
- Soft Skills: Excellent spatial reasoning, strong attention to detail, and a proactive attitude toward learning.

Pay: $50,000.00-$58,000.00 per year
