Job Overview
We are seeking a knowledgeable and personable Cannabis Budtender to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional customer service, assist customers in selecting products, and ensure a welcoming and professional environment. This role requires strong communication skills, product knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. The Budtender will also handle sales transactions, maintain store merchandising, and uphold compliance standards within the dispensary.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide personalized assistance in product selection based on individual needs and preferences
- Educate customers on different strains, edibles, concentrates, and other cannabis products, including effects and usage guidelines
- Operate POS systems accurately for cash handling, sales processing, and inventory management
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sales floor, display cases, and storage areas
- Manage inventory levels through proper filing and merchandising techniques
- Ensure compliance with all federal and provincial regulations regarding cannabis sales and documentation
- Handle cash transactions efficiently while maintaining accuracy in cash handling procedures
- Collaborate with team members to create a positive retail environment that promotes customer satisfaction
Qualifications
- Proven experience in retail sales, hospitality, or customer service roles; previous experience as a budtender is a plus
- Strong communication skills in English
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and basic computer operation skills
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary (e.g., stocking shelves or moving inventory)
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in merchandising and filing systems
- Basic math skills for cash handling and POS transactions
- Demonstrated ability to upsell products effectively while maintaining professionalism
- Knowledge of cannabis products, industry regulations, and safety protocols preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends or evenings if needed; strong time management skills are important
