Mikisew Group LP, a Mikisew Group company, is currently seeking an Intermediate Accountant. The position is based out of the Enoch Capital Region.
The incumbent will be responsible for performing a variety of intermediate accounting functions effectively within a teamwork environment which places a premium on the ability to adjust to changing priorities, professionalism, and confidentiality.
Responsibilities & Duties
- AP invoice processing and payment (EFTs/cheques)
- Balance sheet reconciliations, StatsCanada submissions, and CRA filings
- Month-end reporting (preparation of journal entries, project ratio analysis, financial statement compilation and analysis)
- Preparation and/or review of working papers for Board meetings and Bank Compliance reporting
- Participate in financial and vendor audits
- Correspondence with site management and administration
- Identify opportunities for process improvements
- Assist in budget preparation and forecasting
- Ad-hoc reporting & projects
- Other duties as assigned and as may be amended from time to time to meet company/organizational objectives
Working Conditions
- Working in an office environment
- Shift: Monday to Friday (40 hours a week)
Qualifications
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in Accounting/Finance
- Experience in the oil and gas or construction industry is an asset
- Familiarity with ERP/accounting software (e.g., SAP B1, NetSuite)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and advanced Excel skills
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure while maintaining high accuracy
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively
- Exposure to project accounting or Project Controller responsibilities is considered an asset
Education:
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant field
- CPA designation in progress is preferred
