Natural Stone Traders Inc. (NST Stone) wholesales (Business to Business) natural stone and porcelain for residential and commercial landscaping projects across Ontario and beyond. We aspire to provide a selection of our stones at every retail landscaping supply location in Canada. This role is to fill an existing vacancy.
Our growing company is looking for a talented and experienced forklift operator to manage workflow at our facility. The prime function of this position is to provide support to the supply chain through collecting, loading, shipping and receiving products. Occasional weekend work required. Adhere to quality and customer service standards set forth by the company. pull-out, wrap and stage orders to be loaded on various type of trucks e.g. flat beds, box trucks, containers etc..
Job Duties
- Inspect and perform maintenance of forklifts and other material handling equipment as needed.
- Organize and re organize pallets for incoming and outgoing goods.
- Fulfilling the orders as per companies policies. Check stock, labels, update the office on stock as needed.
- Have an understanding of different machines and their capabilities e.g. counter balance forklift vs front loaders, etc.
- Appropriate yard organization of crates & clean up.
- Weekly stock counting.
- Learn about stone qualities and ensure only the best material leaves our yard.
- Ensure all material is kept on its proper location & put back as required.
- Performs safety start-up checks & preventative maintenance on equipment.
- Loading flat beds and other trucks as needed.
- Serve as a link between co-workers and upper management.
- Performs daily checks on the forklifts.
- Must be available to work on weekends, if needed.
- Occasionally interact with customers and show them our products/yard.
- Pick, wrap and stage orders to be shipped- 45-50 lbs lifting is required
- Some physical labour is required.
- Should be able to load and unload a 20 ft container.
- Valid G2 or G license/car is a must/ own car /transport is a must- no pubic transit in area.
- its an open/outdoor yard--safety boots/dress appropriately
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- MUST HAVE A VALID FORKLIFT LICENSE
- 6 MONTHS MINIMUN EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. 1 YR EXPERIENCE is an asset.
- good verbal and written communication skills.
- be able to work both as a team & individual.
- punctual without any issues.
- $21.00/hour- $22.00/hour based on experience
- 4% vacation pay --forklift operator
- *immediate hire-- full time Monday to Friday 8am-4:30pm, with occasional work on Saturdays.
- Must Have Valid Forklift License
Required Education, Skills and Qualifications
High-school diploma.
Forklift license required.
Job Type: Full-Time, year round.
Salary: $21.00-$22/hour based on experience
