Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate ECE (Early Childhood Education) Assistant to support classroom activities and foster a positive learning environment for young children. This role involves working closely with lead teachers to implement educational programs, assist with daily routines, and promote social and emotional development. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and a strong understanding of early childhood education principles.
Duties
- Assist lead teachers in planning and implementing age-appropriate educational activities
- Support children’s social, emotional, and developmental needs through engaging interactions
- Help supervise children during indoor and outdoor playtime, meals, and rest periods
- Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming classroom environment
- Support individual children, including those with disabilities, to ensure inclusive participation
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members to foster positive relationships
- Assist in classroom organization and preparation of teaching materials
- Observe and document children's progress and behavior for assessment purposes
Experience
- Prior classroom experience working with young children is preferred
- Experience in teaching or supporting children with diverse needs is a plus
- Familiarity with early childhood education practices and curriculum development is advantageous
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues
- Knowledge of basic math skills relevant to early childhood settings is beneficial
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is desirable
Qualifications:
- Minimum ECE Level 1 certification required
- Valid CPR and Standard First Aid certification required
- Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check
- Experience working with children is an asset
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Reliable, caring, and responsible
