Sentrex Wind Services Inc. is a leading service provider to the renewable energy industry. We are based in Quispamsis, New Brunswick, and proudly serve clients throughout Canada.
We are currently seeking a Foreman for field and shop work. The role is suited for a person who can manage a team or work alone; cares about doing their work right; has a strong aptitude for troubleshooting, repair, fabrication and assembly; has solid computer skills; is willing and able to travel to job sites for extended periods; can prepare detailed field reports; and, enjoys both shop work and working outdoors. Duties:
- Travel throughout Canada to perform fieldwork at remote sites for extended periods of time. When not on a field job, selected candidate will work at the company shop in Quispamsis, New Brunswick.
- Ability to manage crews, coordinate schedules, and maintain safety standards on-site.
- Lead and supervise crews to install tilt-up met towers for wind meadurement.
- Installation of wind measurement equipment including data logging and communications equipment
- Assembly, field installation, and troubleshooting of mobile, low voltage off-grid solar power supplies
- Installation and maintenance and repair of ground-based wind measurement systems (LiDAR and SoDAR)
- Document work, prepare reports and upload reports and photos
- Travel to and work in remote sites, operating 4WD pickups pulling trailers (on road and off road) and operating ATV's and snowmobiles
Mandatory:
- Valid driver's license / clean driving abstract / clean drug tests
- Ability to read and write field notes and reports
- Good computer skills
- Mechanical aptitude and experience with basic tools.
- Physical fitness and ability to perform physical work on a daily basis, including lifting and carrying heavy equipment and tools, and capable of working outdoors in all seasons and many weather conditions.
- Must enjoy a fast pace and daily change in your task list.
- Must honestly care about your workmanship
- Must have common sense and positive attitude.
- Must be willing and able to travel throughout Canada for extended periods from one to three weeks
The following will be considered as assets:
- A technology or technician diploma or certification, or some engineering studies at university level
- Construction, industrial, or tower rigging experience
- Previous experience in the wind energy industry
- Previous training and/or experience in rigging, fall arrest, working at heights
- Troubleshooting low voltage (<24V) DC systems
- Bilingualism (French and English), though not mandatory, would be helpful
- Ability to read assembly drawings and wiring schematics
Wages:
- Commensurate with skills and experience
