Quality Assurance Specialist
Start Date: Flexible, Summer 2026
Position Summary:
The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for maintaining and enforcing the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure full compliance with ASME codes, customer specifications, and internal standards. The successful candidate will manage and the audit processes and play a key role in supporting the design, engineering, and manufacturing of ASME code-stamped parts.
This position ensures quality is embedded throughout the entire manufacturing lifecycle, from incoming materials to final inspection, while maintaining audit readiness and continuous system improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and support the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) and ensure compliance with ASME and company standards.
- Prepare, manage, and maintain quality and production documentation, including job files, material records, and traceability documents.
- Coordinate and support internal, external, and ASME audits while ensuring ongoing audit readiness.
- Monitor shop floor activities to ensure quality procedures, specifications, and work instructions are followed.
- Oversee material inspections, in-process inspections, final inspections, and pressure testing activities.
- Ensure material traceability and proper documentation throughout the manufacturing process.
- Manage calibration programs for inspection and testing equipment.
- Investigate quality issues, document non-conformances, and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with production, inspection, and engineering teams to drive continuous quality improvement and compliance.
- Potential for growth into a Supervisory role
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Solid mechanical aptitude with understanding of manufacturing processes
- Working knowledge of machining and welding practices (Considered an asset)
- Strong understanding of a manufacturing environment, particularly pressure equipment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and production/ERP software systems
- Ability to work independently and autonomously
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and take corrective action
- Ability to follow and enforce processes and procedures consistently
Candidate Profile:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Technical Diploma in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably involving pressure equipment
- Prior experience in a Quality Assurance role
- Demonstrated experience with internal and/or external audits
- Experience with ASME code-stamped products would be considered an asset
- Must possess excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
- Must possess Canadian citizenship or permanent residency status
Technical Knowledge (Preferred):
- ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (BPVC), particularly Section VIII
- Welding standards (ASME Section IX)
- Inspection and testing methods, including NDE
- ISO 9001 or similar Quality Management Systems
Job Type:
- Full time, permanent
- Salary range: $75,000 - $95,000 depending on experience
- On-Site (no remote working)
- Weekdays (Monday-Friday), 7:30AM to 4:30PM
