Our client is an established manufacturing operation in New Brunswick and is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead plant maintenance and oversee day-to-day plant operations.
This is a hands-on maintenance leadership role for someone who can take ownership of equipment reliability, preventative maintenance, repairs, downtime, and maintenance planning, while also providing overall leadership across the plant.
Maintenance Manager Responsibilities:
- Lead all plant maintenance activities, including preventative maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting, shutdowns, and emergency maintenance
- Take ownership of equipment reliability, plant uptime, and reducing recurring equipment failures
- Develop and improve preventative maintenance programs, maintenance planning, and work-order processes
- Run the day-to-day plant operation and ensure production, maintenance, safety, and quality expectations are met
- Lead and support maintenance, production, shop, and plant employees
- Be highly visible on the plant floor and provide hands-on support when equipment or operational issues arise
- Coordinate maintenance and production priorities to reduce downtime and keep the plant operating effectively
- Manage parts, contractors, equipment servicing, maintenance costs, and plant improvement project
- Partner with senior leadership to identify equipment risks, maintenance priorities, cost-saving opportunities, and areas for operational improvement
- Build stronger maintenance and operating discipline across the site
- Challenge reactive maintenance practices and help move the plant toward a more proactive and reliable operation
The Successful Candidate Has:
- Previous experience as a Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Superintendent, Maintenance Supervisor, Plant Manager, or senior maintenance leader
- Strong mechanical aptitude and a practical understanding of industrial equipment, repairs, troubleshooting, downtime, and plant maintenance
- Experience planning and prioritizing maintenance work, shutdowns, contractors, and repairs
- Proven ability to lead tradespeople, maintenance employees, operators, production employees, and plant staff
- A hands-on leadership style and a strong presence on the plant floor
- Strong knowledge of maintenance parts, inventory, work orders, equipment records, and maintenance planning
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with experienced employees and senior leadership
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range of $110,000 to $125,000, depending on experience
