Duties
- Assist the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, including supervising kitchen staff and ensuring smooth workflow.
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to meet quality standards and customer expectations.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations through proper food handling and storage procedures.
- Supervise food service activities, including serving guests when necessary, to ensure timely and efficient service.
- Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and maintain proper stock of ingredients and kitchen equipment.
- Train and mentor kitchen staff on cooking techniques, food safety practices, and restaurant policies.
- Collaborate with restaurant management to develop menus, specials, and innovative culinary ideas.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment at all times.
- Lead by example in demonstrating professionalism, teamwork, and leadership within the kitchen.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and food service within a restaurant or hospitality setting.
- Supervising experience with demonstrated leadership in managing kitchen teams or restaurant staff.
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures.
- Excellent skills in food industry operations, including kitchen management and restaurant experience.
- Ability to oversee multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to lead a team effectively.
- Knowledge of hospitality industry best practices and customer service principles.
- Experience in menu development, food presentation, and serving techniques is preferred.
