Our Opportunity
We are currently looking to subcontract an Installation Technician to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an organized, detail-oriented self-starter who enjoys working independently and takes pride in delivering quality workmanship.
This is a subcontractor position with strong earning potential for the right candidate.
About the Position
As an Installation Technician, you will be responsible for installing a variety of residential products in new homes, renovation projects, and retail customer homes. You'll begin each day at our shop, where you'll receive your work schedule, review work orders, and load the materials required for the day's installations.
The successful applicant will represent CJ Glass professionally at all times while working on customer sites and communicating with homeowners, builders, and site supervisors as needed.
Responsibilities
- Arrive at the shop each morning to receive your daily schedule and load materials.
- Travel to scheduled job sites using your own vehicle (cargo van preferred).
- Complete installations according to work orders and company quality standards.
- Install products including:
- Vanity mirrors
- Shower doors
- Wire and melamine closet shelving
- Closet doors
- Room dividers
- Other residential specialty products
- Measure new homes, renovation projects, and retail customer homes accurately for future installations.
- Communicate professionally with customers and site supervisors to resolve questions or address issues.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Positive attitude and dependable work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Comfortable taking and interpreting measurements using a tape measure.
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
The following experience is considered an asset but is not required:
- Glazing or installation of mirrors, shelving, or shower doors
- Carpentry or interior finishing
- Residential construction or renovation experience
We are willing to train the right candidate who has a strong work ethic and mechanical aptitude.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license with clean driving history and own insurance
- Reliable vehicle (cargo van preferred)
- Basic power tools
- Ability to lift and handle installation materials safely
- Must have Liability Insurance, WCB Coverage and Basic First Aide
Compensation
- Subcontractor position
- Piecework pay (paid per completed installation); no hourly rate applies
- Invoices submitted by the subcontractor to CJ Glass & Mirror
- Excellent earning potential based on productivity and quality of work
- Schedule may have some flexibility
Pay: From $15.00 per hour
