The Position
As an Application Specialist you will use your domain and data management knowledge and experience to ensure a best-in-class product experience for our customers. You will be responsible for ensuring the effective deployment, operation, and support of data management software products provided by Seequent. This position bridges the gap between end-users, technical solution teams, user success and technology, ensuring that applications are configured, optimized, and utilized to their full potential. You will contribute to the development and support of Seequent’s solutions and directly influence their effectiveness and quality. You will provide your domain and product knowledge across the complete software development process including discovery, design, implementation, testing, documentation and user support.
The primary focus of the position is to provide technical expertise, troubleshoot complex issues, recommend best practise workflows, support implementations and collaborate with customer success, development and product teams to enhance application functionality. By understanding both business needs and software capabilities, an Application Specialist helps maximize efficiency, improve user experience, and ensure the ongoing success of our customers
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Act as a liaison between users, technical solution specialists, product managers, and developers to communicate feedback and feature requests and resolve issues
- Contribute to the development of application improvements by providing insights into user needs
- Participate in meetings to discuss support trends, application improvements, and customer feedback
Support technical solutions specialists and development teams with complex software implementations, data migration projects and software platform maintenance tasks
- Develop guidance, documentation, and tools to support workflow automation and system integrations leveraging Seequent platform API capabilities
- Use application management software and tools to track application performance metrics and identifying areas for improvement
- Respond to escalated technical support requests in a timely and professional manner collaborating with internal teams and end-users as required
- Diagnose and resolve complex application-related and data-related issues by guiding colleagues and end-users through solutions or escalating to technical teams when necessary
- Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) to validate new features and updates before release
- Identify, document, and report software defects and inconsistencies to the development team
- Provide feedback on system improvements based on user experiences and operational challenges
- Verify bug fixes and enhancements to ensure they function as intended
- Keep up with software updates, new features, and industry best practices to provide informed support
- Work closely with other Seequent product teams to support cross-product workflows and integrations
- Assist internal teams, such as customer success, sales, and implementation teams – to troubleshoot issues
- Provide insights and recommendations on how internal teams can leverage multiple products effectively
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in related discipline
- 5+ years of experience in a technical support, application support, or customer-facing software position
- Familiarity with data management principles and best practices (Inc. data ingestion, validation, integrity, transformation, delivery & transfer)
- Experience with API Integrations and troubleshooting
- Experience in mining, exploration, or geoscience industry is an asset but not required
- Demonstrate effective communication through appropriate digital and non-digital channels
- Ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical users in a clear and professional manner
- Customer-focused mindset with a strong commitment to user satisfaction
Additional Information
This is a hybrid position, and you are required to be in the Toronto Seequent office two days a week. After hours support may be required on occasion to assist colleagues, customers, or regions in other time zones.
