Job expectations:
- Show up prior to the session scheduled time
- Complete tasks as assigned to ensure operations run smoothly (Follow the assigned schedule, understand, and follow workplace policies, clock in and out and prepare timesheets on time, etc.)
- Uphold a high standard of ethical and professional behaviour (i.e deal with confidential information appropriately, understand boundaries, make ethical decisions, treat client's and colleagues with dignity and respect)
- Communicate effectively with supervisor(s) and colleagues
ABA Therapy Services
Professional Duties:
- Follow teaching procedures working one-to-one with children with ASD
- Follow a session schedule to create the most learning opportunities for students
- Collect and graph data as directed
- Prepare end of session notes and appropriately update/communicate with parents
- Implement behaviour analytic strategies under the supervision of a lead/supervisor
- Provide Active supervision of children, thus, during unstructured periods, engage continuously with student's, guide students in appropriate play, remain in close proximity etc.
- Continuously develop and maintain positive relationships with student's (pairing)
- Deliver instructions and follow ABA teaching procedures
- Provide least-intrusive support to facilitate success and fade out prompts appropriately
- Assess student's motivation continuously (preferences and effectiveness of reinforcers)
- Regularly check-in and communicate with supervisor
Qualifications:
- Have experience working with children
- Highschool Diploma or relative post-secondary education
- Level 3 Vulnerable Sector Check
