Position Summary
This is a 4 day work week position.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and community-minded Job Developer to join our team.
This community-based position focuses on employer engagement, job development, employment planning, and employment placement. The successful candidate will build relationships with employers, identify employment opportunities, support participants throughout the job search and placement process, and coordinate workplace supports to promote successful employment outcomes.
Responsibilities
· Build and maintain relationships with employers and community partners.
· Develop meaningful employment opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities.
· Conduct employer outreach, networking, and community engagement activities.
· Assist participants with employment planning, resume development, interview preparation, and job search activities.
· Match participants with suitable employment opportunities.
· Coordinate employment placements and onboarding supports.
· Arrange workplace supports, including the recruitment and coordination of Job Coaches when required.
· Maintain participant documentation, reporting requirements, and ARMS data entry.
· Represent Avalon Employment Inc. within the community.
Qualifications
· Post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Experience in employment services, job development, recruitment, sales, marketing, community engagement, or a related field.
· Strong communication, networking, and relationship-building skills.
· Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation.
Assets
· Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities.
· Knowledge of supported employment practices.
· Knowledge of ARMS.
· Familiarity with the Newfoundland and Labrador labour market.
