Job Description:
Yoga Teachers at Sukha Yoga are responsible for creating welcoming, safe, and meaningful class experiences that support students of all levels. Teachers lead classes rooted in breath awareness, balance, strength, and mobility, while encouraging deeper connection between mind and body. Classes should feel both accessible and intelligently challenging, honoring individual needs within a shared group experience.
Teachers are expected to embody Sukha Yoga’s values and contribute positively to our peaceful, supportive studio environment.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Lead high-quality yoga classes aligned with Sukha Yoga’s teaching philosophy
- Create a warm, inclusive, and non-judgmental space for all students
- Offer clear verbal cues, thoughtful sequencing, and appropriate use of props
- Provide safe modifications and variations for different bodies and experience levels
- Maintain a calm, professional, and grounded presence before, during, and after class
- Support the studio environment by arriving prepared, on time, and ready to teach
- Foster connection with students and contribute to our growing community
- Collaborate respectfully with fellow teachers, studio staff, and wellness practitioners
Qualifications & Skills:
- Completion of a recognized 200-hour or 500-hour Yoga Teacher Training (Yoga Alliance or equivalent)
- Teaching experience preferred (newer teachers with strong training and presence are welcome to apply)
- Strong understanding of alignment, breath, and mindful movement
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliable, responsible, and professional
- Passion for yoga, wellness, and lifelong learning
- Ability to represent Sukha Yoga with authenticity and integrity
Nice to Have:
- Experience teaching multiple styles (Hatha, yin, restorative, flow, etc.)
- Interest in anatomy-informed or research-based movement
- Workshop, series, or specialty offering ideas
- Engagement with community building (in-studio or online)
