Job Summary
We are an established and growing bookkeeping and income tax practice in Nanaimo seeking an experienced, highly organized Senior Office Manager/Bookkeeper/Tax Specialist to lead our office operations and support our continued growth.
This is an ideal opportunity for a seasoned professional who brings strong technical expertise in bookkeeping and tax preparation, along with the leadership ability to manage workflow, support a team, and ensure an exceptional client experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all day-to-day office operations and client workflow
- Manage full-cycle bookkeeping, including reconciliations, financial reporting and file reviews
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients during complex situations
- Provide guidance, oversight and support to administrative and bookkeeping staff
- Support payroll processing and ensure proper documentation for all financial transactions
- Collaborate with internal teams to streamline financial operations and improve reporting accuracy Requirements
- Proven experience in tax preparation, auditing, or related financial services roles
Qualifications & Experience
- 5+ years of experience in bookkeeping and income tax preparation
- Advanced experience with accounting software including QuickBooks, Sage 50 and other bookkeeping tools
- Strong working knowledge of Canadian tax regulations and CRA processes
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and lead during high-pressure periods
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated leadership or office management experience
- Strong communication, client and employee relationship skills
