Part-Time | Short-Term Contract | Flexible Hours
Tutor Doctor Sudbury is looking for an outgoing, well-connected bilingual Laurentian University student to help us recruit new tutors on campus during our busy back-to-school season.
We are a local one-to-one tutoring company that works with students of all ages and subjects throughout Greater Sudbury. With the new school year underway, we are currently looking to grow our team of tutors — particularly university students with strong backgrounds in Math, Science, French, English and other academic subjects.
Rather than simply posting job ads, we are looking for someone who knows the Laurentian community and can help us connect directly with great potential tutors.
What you'll be doing
As our Campus Recruitment Ambassador, you'll help spread the word about Tutor Doctor opportunities throughout Laurentian University. This may include:
- Connecting with students who may be a great fit for tutoring
- Sharing our tutor opportunities within campus groups, clubs, programs and student networks
- Helping distribute posters, QR codes and recruitment materials around campus
- Sharing opportunities through social media, group chats and other student platforms
- Connecting with students in high-demand areas such as Math, Science, French, Education and English
- Reaching out to campus groups, associations or departments where appropriate
- Referring strong candidates to our Tutor Doctor recruitment team
- Brainstorming creative ways to reach more students on campus
Who we're looking for
The ideal person is:
- Currently attending Laurentian University
- Fluently bilingual in French and English — this is a mandatory requirement
- Very familiar with the Laurentian campus and student community
- Outgoing, approachable and comfortable connecting with new people
- Well-connected through classes, student groups, athletics, clubs, residence or other campus activities
- Comfortable using social media and online student networks
- Organized and able to work independently
- Reliable and professional when representing Tutor Doctor
You do not need previous recruitment or HR experience. We're much more interested in finding someone who is personable, resourceful and genuinely connected within the Laurentian community.
Schedule
This is a short-term, flexible position designed around a university student's schedule.
Approximately 5–8 hours per week for an initial 4–6 week recruitment campaign, with the possibility of additional opportunities depending on results and future recruitment needs.
Much of the work can be completed independently and around your class schedule.
Compensation
$20–$22/hour, depending on experience.
Additional incentives may also be available for successful tutor referrals.
