Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Field Safety Assistant to support our Health & Safety team. This role involves attending active job sites, observing work practices, and helping ensure compliance with company policies and safety regulations. The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting a strong safety culture and documenting site conditions through clear and accurate reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend daily or scheduled site visits across various project locations
- Observe and monitor work activities to ensure compliance with safety standards and procedures
- Identify potential hazards and report findings to the Health & Safety team
- Complete detailed site visit reports and documentation
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and crew members on safety expectations
- Support incident investigations and follow-up actions as required
- Assist with safety audits, inspections, and general safety initiatives
Qualifications
- Valid G Class Driver’s License (required)
- Previous health & safety experience is considered an asset
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Ability to work independently and travel to multiple job sites
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, report writing)
- Knowledge of construction or utility work environments is an asset
Working Conditions
- Primarily field-based role with travel to active construction sites
- Exposure to various weather conditions
- Must be comfortable working outdoors and around heavy equipment
