General Description
AAA Rebar is seeking a dynamic and experienced Rebar Estimator / Detailer / Project Coordinator to join our team in Victoria, BC. This critical role is responsible for directly engaging with customers to provide and deliver exceptional reinforcing steel solutions.
The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, small-company environment, embracing broad responsibilities and the opportunity to make a significant impact. You will be responsible for working directly with our customers to provide the right solution on time and on budget. This includes preparing estimates, accurately detailing the rebar requirements, and working with our customers, our shop and our installers to deliver the final product.
Position Functions
- Create comprehensive structural take-offs by interpreting engineering and architectural drawings to accurately determine reinforcing steel requirements.
- Work with AAA Management to price projects.
- Proactively secure all necessary project information and specifications required for accurate detailing.
- Generate detailed rebar placing drawings and corresponding material lists for field installers, ensuring complete accuracy and clarity in all remarks.
- Manage the drawing revision process, meticulously tracking and documenting all changes from the Tender to Construction phases.
- Identifying any ‘specialty’ material required at the start of the project for early ordering of this material.
- Cultivate strong working relationships with clients, ensuring the highest level of service and customer satisfaction.
- Visit construction sites as required.
- Identify opportunities for and implement new operational systems and procedures to enhance efficiency.

Qualifications
- A post-secondary degree or diploma in Construction or Architectural Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 2+ years’ experience as a Rebar Estimator, Detailer, Project Coordinator, or Rebar Installer
- Proficiency with estimating and/or detailing software is a significant asset.
- Knowledge of Reinforcing Steel Manual of Standard Practices
