Our client, a reputable heavy civil contractor that delivers a strong mix of work on both large infrastructure projects, such as the Surrey-Langley SkyTrain and the Broadway Subway, as well as mid-sized projects, is seeking a Field Engineer to support construction operations on large-scale civil infrastructure projects.
- Assist with project submittals, specifications review, and plan preparation.
- Support scheduling, site layout planning, and crew coordination.
- Develop designs for temporary works and provide field layout assistance.
- Manage procurement, material deliveries, and quality control compliance.
- Maintain project documentation, daily logs, and progress reports.
- Ensure adherence to safety policies, environmental regulations, and project requirements.
- Analyze construction drawings and specifications to provide technical guidance.
- Conduct field inspections and collaborate with subcontractors for timely execution.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience working for a heavy civil contractor in a Field Engineer, Project Coordinator, or similar construction role preferred.
- Understanding of construction techniques, materials, equipment, and industry standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret blueprints and construction specifications.
