Under the direction of the physicians, the clinic nurse ensures the provision of high quality, well coordinated medical are within a clinic setting. They will perform clinical nursing duties.
Clinical duties:
1. Perform clinical nursing duties with integrity, quality and under the clinical supervision of the physicians.
2. Coordinate the flow of patient care within the clinic.
3. Conduct nursing assessments on patients brought to the exam room, this may include but not limited to: wound care, pregnancy test, injections, blood pressure checks, urine test, immunizations, weight and height checks, complete set of vital signs.
4. Assist and facilitate patients in obtaining medical services, including scheduling patients as appropriate, triaging patients and assessing patients who walked into the clinic.
5. Take and record vital signs, recognize any variances, outliers and red flags, and take appropriate action.
6. Provide patient triage and assessment and obtain health information and relevant data.
7. Perform patient screening tests and record in chart.
8. Administer IM/ID/SQ injections and oral medications as ordered by the physicians.
9. Fill in vital patient information on SOAP note which can include and is not limited to preparing patients to be seen by the clinic practitioner, taking patient history, determination of chief complaint and providing patient education.
10. Provide case management for patients with diabetes, INR monitoring, palliative care patients and others as required.
Clinical administration:
1. Under the direction of the physicians, plan and implement clinic policies, procedures and workflow.
2. Ensure compliance with the privacy act as outlined by the confidentiality agreement of the Prince Edward County Family Health Team.
3. As needed, review and update clinic forms to maintain compliance with relevant local, provincial and federal law.
4. Oversee all aspects of the management of clinic equipment including maintenance and ordering of clinic inventory, medications and supplies.
5. Maintain immunization inventory.
6. Coordinate monthly, weekly and daily schedules of the physicians.
7. Ensure rooms are adequately stocked and checked on a weekly basis.
8. Able to easily manage and become a superuser of the Accuro EMR.
Qualifications:
1. RPN license to practice in the province of Ontario
2. Must have at least one year working as a nurse.

Pay: $27.00-$30.00 per hour
