Opportunity
We are seeking a passionate Structural Draftsperson/BIM Modeler for our Vancouver office with exceptional attention to detail and a strong desire to grow professionally. Key Responsibilities
- Working closely with engineers to develop structural drawings from preliminary concepts, sketches, engineering calculations, specification sheets, and other data, to be issued for a wide range of industries.
- Perform drafting using AutoCAD and Revit
- Drawings include plans, sections, details, and general notes.
- Checking and revising Drawings
- Preparing and assisting in the release of drawings and documentation for projects
- Actively working on improving drafting skills and increasing knowledge of structural design through self-training, in-house training, and external courses
- Develop, edit and maintain 3D designs of building envelopes, structures, mechanical, electrical, architectural, and plumbing using Revit. Identifying conflicts within the drawings and working with the structural engineer/clients to correct
- Accountability for schedule and efficiency
- Ensure the models are scaled and accurate
Qualifications, Experience and skills
- Completion of a Diploma in Architectural and Building Technology, or equivalent
- 3+ years’ Experience using Revit required.
- 3+ years using AutoCAD preferred.
- Experience working with the BC Building Code
- Ability to set up and operate a functional Revit model.
- Ability to use AutoDesk Programs to their full capabilities.
- Ability to create pre-fabrication spool drawings for the fabrication shop to work off.
- Ability to ensure all deadlines are met.
- Ability to coordinate with the Project Management team to maintain a flow of information.
- Ability to keep accurate filing systems.
- Ability to follow corporate policies and procedures.
- Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal direction, while also following company standards.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $65,000.00-$105,000.00 per year
