Engraving & Packaging Specialist — Growth Path to Shop Manager Llamacoids Inc. — Burlington, Ontario
Llamacoid Inc is a small precision engraving shop, and we're growing fast. We make custom engraved electrical identification — nameplates, breaker tags, MCC labels, warning tags — for electrical contractors, panel builders, solar installers, and industrial customers across the GTA. Our reputation is built on tags that are clean, accurate, and readable. We'd rather do a job right than do it fast.
This is our first hire — you'd be employee number one. We're looking for someone to run engraving and packaging day-to-day, and grow into managing the whole operation as we expand, including bringing on and overseeing a few part-time staff. This is a true ground-floor role for someone who wants real ownership, not just a task list.
What you'll do
- Set up and run our Trotec laser engravers — loading material, dialing in settings, and producing tags that meet spec the first time
- Inspect every job for quality before it goes out. Catching a flaw before the customer does is the whole point of the role
- Package and prepare orders for shipping
- Keep the shop clean and organized, and look after the equipment — routine maintenance, lens cleaning, knowing when something's off before it becomes a problem
- Over time: help plan workflow, train and oversee part-time staff, and take on more of the operation as you earn it
What we're looking for
- Someone meticulous. Detail and quality matter more to us than raw speed
- Hands-on and mechanically comfortable — you like running equipment and keeping it in good shape
- Organized and clean by habit. A tidy shop isn't a chore for you, it's how you work
- Reliable and self-directed. We're small, so what you produce is what ships
- Wants to grow into a leadership role and is genuinely interested in how a business runs
No prior laser engraving experience required — we'll train the right person. Attitude, attention to detail, and the drive to grow with us matter most.
The opportunity As our first employee, you'll get in at the ground floor of a business that's growing quickly. The right person will learn the trade, then the business, and we'll hand off more responsibility as that happens. If you've ever wanted to help run a shop — and grow with it — this is the path.
