Welder/Fitter

This position is on the afternoon shift, working Monday to Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. However, for the first few weeks, the successful candidate will be required to work the day shift (Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.) for training and onboarding before transitioning to the afternoon shift.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Read blueprints, diagrams, and sketches, and read measurements to plan layout and procedures.
- Assist in design and fitting of new products
- Conduct repairs, modifications, and retrofits.
- Set up components for welding according to specifications.
- Assess welded surfaces, structures, and components to identify errors.
- Operate hand tools and equipment to prepare the parts that must be welded if needed.
- Fabricate and assemble metal structures and equipment.
- Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety by monitoring temperature and wearing the required safety equipment at all times.
- Ensure accuracy and completion of assigned tasks and projects.
Qualifications
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings (an asset)
- Practical welding experience, including school-based training, is required.
- Experience with heavy plate fitting
- Excellent organizational skills are a must.
- Good use of measuring tools and devices
- High energy, motivated individual with strong interpersonal skills, team player
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent
*Wage will be based on experience/skill level.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00-$30.00 per hour
