Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Carpenter specializing in Formwork and Concrete to join our construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing formwork systems used to shape concrete structures. Your expertise will ensure that concrete is poured accurately and efficiently, adhering to safety standards and project specifications. Duties
- Construct and install formwork for concrete structures using hand tools, power tools, and schematics
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure precise execution of formwork designs
- Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, cranes, or other machinery necessary for lifting and positioning formwork components
- Install rebar reinforcement within formwork to strengthen concrete structures according to engineering specifications
- Perform concrete finishing tasks including smoothing, caulking, sealing joints, and restoring surfaces for a polished final appearance
- Execute masonry tasks related to foundation work or structural elements as needed during renovation or new construction projects
- Conduct routine inspections of formwork systems for safety compliance and structural integrity throughout the project lifecycle
- Assist in the installation of flooring, framing, or other related construction activities requiring carpentry expertise
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively while maintaining a clean work environment
- Support the team in heavy lifting operations and ensure proper handling of materials to prevent injuries
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction with a focus on concrete forming, carpentry, or related fields
- Strong mechanical knowledge including operation of heavy equipment and power tools
- Skilled in rebar installation, masonry, flooring installation, welding, and caulking techniques
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately
- Knowledge of concrete finishing methods and restoration techniques
- Familiarity with safety protocols related to heavy lifting, scaffolding, and equipment operation
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail during renovation or new build projects
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting, prolonged standing, climbing scaffolds, and working in various weather conditions
