Job Description
Westboro Utilities is currently seeking an experienced and reliable Backhoe Operator to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating equipment on civil construction and utility projects while maintaining productivity and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate backhoe equipment in a safe and efficient manner
- Perform trenching, excavation, and backfilling for underground utilities
- Follow all site plans, locates, and safety regulations
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance
- Work closely with crew members, supervisors, and other trades
- Ensure job sites remain clean, organized, and safe
Qualifications
- Experience operating a backhoe (utility experience preferred)
- Valid driver’s license
- Experience working around underground utilities and reading locates
- Strong understanding of health and safety practices
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player
