Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic assessments and troubleshoot mechanical issues using schematics and technical manuals
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on vehicles, including engine, transmission, brakes, suspension, and electrical systems
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly techniques to complete repairs effectively
- Follow safety protocols during all maintenance procedures to ensure a safe working environment
- Assist with vehicle inspections and ensure all work meets quality standards
- Maintain detailed records of repairs, parts used, and service performed
- Support team members in completing tasks efficiently while adhering to deadlines
- Engage in ongoing training to stay current with automotive technology and repair techniques
Skills
- Proven dealership experience or extensive mechanic experience preferred
- Strong mechanical knowledge of automotive systems and components
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and schematics reading
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely (up to 50 pounds or more) as required for parts handling and repairs
- Experience with automotive repair, maintenance, assembly, and troubleshooting
- Excellent customer service skills for interacting with clients when necessary
- Knowledge of vehicle diagnostics software and technical manuals is a plus
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
