Your work environment at EXP
EXP is currently recruiting a Senior Environmental Project Manager to work in our Ottawa ON office. You will be a motivated, detail-oriented self-starter with at least ten (10) years of experience in environmental site assessment and consulting services. You will be responsible for various project-related tasks reporting to the Environmental Manager. Our Ottawa office operates as a smaller team dynamic, working under the support of a larger corporate entity. You will be exposed to a variety of clients and projects across a wide array of industries.
What a day at EXP has in store for you
- Provide leadership, training, and operational support to junior and intermediate staff in the areas of environmental site assessment, remediation and/or risk assessment, as applicable, within the framework of Ontario Regulation 153/04
- Manage the technical, schedule and budgetary elements of projects and provide day-to-day project management and compliance with site, corporate and regulatory standards
- Serve as a resource in your field(s) of expertise
- Analyze and prepare documentation, presentations and reports for internal and external stakeholders
- Strong field based experience in groundwater supply, hydrogeological investigations, and assessments
- Overseeing the planning and execution of Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments (ESA) to CSA and O. Reg. 153/04 requirements
- Overseeing the planning and execution of excess soil to O Reg. 406/19 requirements
- Working familiarity with Ontario Regulation 153/04 and Ontario Regulation 406/19
- Execution or willingness to learn Record of Site Condition (RSC) filing process
- Proposal preparation, budget tracking, cost control and invoicing
- Technical report preparation
- Liaising with contractors and clients
- Evaluating data and proposing solutions
- Training and mentoring junior-intermediate staff
- Experience in completing peer reviews of technical documents and reports
- Nurturing strong client relationships and willingness to participate in business development activities
What your experience looks like
- 10+ years of experience in environmental assessments and excess soil in Ontario
- University degree in a related field of study such as Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Hydrogeology or Geology
- P.Eng. or P.Geo. license in Ontario including Qualified Person designation
- Experience conducting Phase I and II ESAs, remediation programs, excess soil management plans
- Hydrogeology and hazardous materials experience would be considered an asset
- Working knowledge of O.Reg 153/04 and 406/19 as amended
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as advanced technical writing abilities
- Experience in budget management, report preparation, and client relationship management
- Ability to solve problems, troubleshoot, and put forth creative solutions
- A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle are required
- Ability to converse and/or write in French is an asset

The salary range for this role is between $120K-$150K. The actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location.
