We are looking for an experienced Senior Functional Analyst - Financial Applications - Oracle to join a contract opportunity in Toronto, Ontario within the insurance casualty sector. In this role, you will lead functional work related to Oracle Fusion Cloud financial applications, partnering with finance, IT, and business stakeholders to support reliable operations, strong controls, and effective system configuration. The position is well suited to a detail-oriented individual who can translate business needs into practical solutions while supporting integration activities, process improvements, and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the functional setup and ongoing enhancement of Oracle Fusion Cloud applications supporting general ledger, human capital, and fixed asset processes, while ensuring effective connectivity with surrounding systems.
- Work closely with business, finance, and technology partners to collect requirements, define solutions, and convert operational needs into clear application configurations.
- Coordinate financial system integration activities related to acquisitions, including planning, data alignment, and validation to support accurate and consistent outcomes.
- Oversee daily application support by investigating issues, resolving system concerns, and partnering with Oracle support teams when deeper technical assistance is required.
- Review system performance and usage trends, identify opportunities to improve stability and efficiency, and recommend practical enhancements.
- Assess existing finance workflows to uncover opportunities for standardization, automation, and stronger use of Oracle Fusion Cloud capabilities.
- Prepare and maintain thorough documentation covering configurations, procedures, control points, and support practices, and deliver training tailored to system updates and post-acquisition changes.
- Strengthen financial system governance by supporting control design, testing, and documentation related to 52-109 requirements, while collaborating with compliance teams and auditors to maintain regulatory alignment.
- 5+ years of experience in functional analysis, ERP consulting, or financial systems roles with a focus on Oracle Cloud environments.
- Hands-on expertise with Oracle Cloud and Oracle Fusion, including experience supporting finance-related modules in complex business settings.
- A second Oracle certification is also mandatory in one of the following modules: Fixed Assets, HCM, or Intercompany
- Strong experience supporting Oracle Fusion ERP operations and implementations
- Working knowledge of Oracle Fusion HCM and its interaction with broader enterprise application processes.
- Proven ability to gather business requirements, map processes, and translate needs into effective system configurations and implementation plans.
- Experience supporting acquisitions, system integration, or data migration initiatives within enterprise financial environments.
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills across finance, IT, compliance, and audit groups.
- Familiarity with financial controls, regulatory compliance expectations, and collaboration with internal and external auditors.
- Ability to work independently in a Contract role while managing priorities in a fast-paced, evolving organization.
