Overview
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Roofing Labourer to join the crew. This role involves tearing off old roofing material, prepping the roof deck, and passing shingles to the shingler. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, physical stamina, and a good attitude. This position offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the roofing industry and workers can expect to see their pay bumped up if they display proficiency.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the tear off, installation, repair, and maintenance of roofing systems on various types residential of buildings.
- Handle and operate tools such as hammers, saws, drills, and caulking guns.
- Prepare work sites by cleaning, organizing materials, and setting up safety equipment.
- Carry heavy materials like shingles, plywood, and other roofing supplies up the ladder and around the roof.
- Perform heavy lifting tasks safely while adhering to safety protocols. Must be able to lift and transport 80 pound bundles.
- Apply prep material, caulking or sealants as needed to ensure waterproofing and insulation integrity
- Maintain a clean work environment to promote safety and efficiency on-site
Experience
- Prior construction experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided for specific roofing techniques.
- Familiarity with hand tools, carpentry, or handyman work is advantageous.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks for extended periods
- Strong attention to safety procedures and ability to work at heights is essential.
