Position Summary
Civil North Consulting Ltd. has multiple openings on our Civil Construction Equipment Operator position.The Civil Construction Equipment Operator is part of an effective construction team that successfully completes projects according to approved plans, specifications, and applicable codes while maintaining high quality and a safe workplace. Equipment Operator is responsible for the safe and effective operation of various pieces of equipment.
Responsibilities
- Heavy Equipment operation may include but is not limited to Excavators, Loader, Dozer, Rock Truck, Skid Steer, and Packer
- Perform routine daily maintenance (e.g., blow out air filters, check oils and fluids, grease, inspect tires and tire pressures).
- Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently
- Cleans heavy equipment as scheduled and/or required
- Ensures heavy equipment is safely and securely stored
- Advises the Superintendent or maintenance department of any requirements for maintenance or repair
- Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of the assigned equipment
Qualifications
- 2+ years experience in Construction and Earthworks
- Must be able to interpret construction stakes
- Able to cut, spread, load trucks, and trench as required
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Experience in a construction environment or in a similar role
- Familiar with construction terms and practices
- Effective verbal and listening communication skills
- Ability to understand and effectively execute verbal and written directions
- Adheres to company Health, Safety, & Environmental reporting and standard assessments
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
Job Types: Permanent, Full-time
Pay: $34.00-$36.00 per hour
