Duties
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of meals, ensuring quality and presentation standards are met
- Support the team in food safety practices, including proper storage, handling, and cleanliness
- Help with food preparation tasks such as chopping, mixing, and assembling ingredients
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, utensils, and equipment throughout shifts
- Serve food to customers in a courteous and professional manner
- Assist with stock organisation and inventory checks
- Support catering events as required, ensuring timely delivery and presentation of food items
- Follow all health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment
Skills
- Previous experience in catering, cooking or restaurant environments is desirable
- Strong understanding of food preparation and meal assembly techniques
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently
- Good communication skills and a friendly demeanour when serving customers
- Ability to work well within a team under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Basic culinary skills or kitchen experience preferred but not essential; willingness to learn is key
