Overview
We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Automotive Service Advisor to join our dealership team. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for customers seeking vehicle maintenance and repair services. This role requires excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of automotive systems, and the ability to provide exceptional service while driving sales and upselling services. Prior dealership or mechanic experience is highly preferred, along with a solid foundation in automotive repair and mechanical knowledge.
Duties
- Greet customers promptly and professionally, establishing a positive rapport
- Listen to customer concerns and accurately document vehicle issues
- Explain recommended services and repairs clearly, ensuring customer understanding
- Prepare work orders, estimate costs, and communicate timelines effectively
- Coordinate with technicians to prioritize repairs and ensure timely completion
- Upsell additional services or maintenance based on customer needs and vehicle requirements
- Handle cash transactions accurately and process payments efficiently
- Follow up with customers regarding vehicle status and satisfaction after service completion
- Maintain detailed records of service history and customer interactions in the dealership system
Skills
- Proven experience in a dealership environment or automotive service setting is preferred
- Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of automotive repair procedures
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly
- Sales aptitude with experience in upselling services and parts effectively
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and responsibly
- Familiarity with automotive systems, diagnostic tools, and repair processes is advantageous
- Professional appearance and demeanor with strong interpersonal skills
