Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Cashier/Sales Assistant to join our retail team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, managing sales transactions, and assisting customers with product inquiries and demonstrations. The ideal candidate is organized, communicative, and capable of handling multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Bilingual abilities and experience in retail or technology sales are highly valued to enhance customer interactions and promote products effectively.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their purchases
- Operate POS systems accurately for cash handling and transaction processing
- Conduct product demos and explain features to customers, especially for technology or specialized items
- Upsell products and accessories to maximize sales opportunities
- Maintain merchandising standards and ensure the sales floor is organized and inviting
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing questions, resolving issues, and ensuring customer satisfaction
- Manage cash register operations, including balancing cash drawers at shift end
- Handle phone inquiries professionally, providing information about products or services
- Assist in inventory management and stock replenishment as needed
- Support team members in achieving sales goals through effective communication and teamwork
Skills
- Multilingual or bilingual skills to serve diverse customer bases effectively
- Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly explain product features and benefits
- Experience in retail sales, cashiering, or merchandising preferred
- Knowledge of POS systems, cash handling procedures, and basic math skills for transactions
- Technical sales experience or familiarity with product demos is a plus
- Excellent organizational skills and time management to handle multiple customers efficiently
- Customer service orientation with a friendly phone etiquette approach
- Ability to upsell products tactfully while maintaining a positive shopping experience
- Adaptability to learn new technologies and sales techniques quickly
Pay: From $16.75 per hour
