Biomed Recovery & Disposal Ltd. is hiring for the position of Driver/Plant Worker.

Reporting to the General Manager and Assistant General Manager, as a Driver/Plant Worker you will play an integral role in Biomed's operations to service customers across Saskatchewan as well as within the assembly line through which we process waste. One portion of your work duties will include driving a commercial truck to pick up waste from our customers while the other portion of your job duties will require you to operate various workstations within our plant in Aberdeen, SK.
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
Driver duties:
- Follow pre and post-trip steps using our fleet management application
- Service customers as assigned on Jobber® and specific route list
- Communicate with reception, shipping and receiving, and other departments via WhatsApp®
- Complete waybills with care and accuracy
- Maintain truck inventory for customers as needed
- Maintain cleanliness of interior and exterior of trucks
- Maintain and wear a presentable, clean uniform and appearance
- Operate commercial vehicles with professionalism and maturity
- Submit receipts to the Accounting department weekly
Plant Worker duties:
- Work with a team to move tubs from trucks to carts through weigh scale
- Run commercial wash stations or other equipment as assigned
- Load and unload trailers
- Assemble/disassemble containers and boxes
- Move inventory throughout the plant
- Sweep, mop, clean, and organize stations
- Other jobs as assigned
Requirements:
- Class 5 driver's license
- Class 1A would be considered an asset
- Ability to lift heavy containers (over 50lbs)
- Ability to operate heavy trucks, heavy equipment, and/or forklifts
- Dependability, organizational skills, and attention to detail are required of this position
- Previous warehouse and/or driving experience are considered assets
This position requires a minimum of 40 hours of work per week. Biomed operates between the hours of 8:00am and 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. Driving duties require some overtime and a significant amount of travel. Company driver's meetings are held one Saturday every three months from 9:00am to 12:00pm. Travel costs are at the expense of the company and overtime is paid at 1.5 times the hourly rate, in accordance with Saskatchewan labour regulations.
The starting wage for a Driver/Plant Worker is between $19-20 per hour, but may adjust dependent on skills, experience, and negotiation.
