Safe and Vault Technician – Job Description
The Physical Security / Safe and Vault Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and servicing of safes, vaults, vault doors, locking systems, and related security equipment. This role involves diagnosing mechanical and electronic lock issues, performing preventative maintenance, conducting safe openings, and ensuring all security systems operate safely and effectively. Technicians work closely with customers to provide professional service while adhering to company procedures, safety standards, and security protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
· Install, service, and repair safes, vaults, vault doors, and locking systems.
· Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electronic lock malfunctions.
- Install and service door hardware and locking systems to specification
- Diagnose and repair mechanical locking devices to meet client expectations
· Perform preventative maintenance and inspections on security equipment.
· Open, repair, and re-secure safes and vaults when required.
· Maintain accurate service records and documentation.
· Ensure compliance with safety, security, and quality standards.
· Provide professional customer service and technical support.
· Travel to customer locations to perform field service work.
Qualifications:
· Experience with locksmithing, safes, vaults, or security equipment.
· Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
· Ability to read technical manuals and schematics.
· Valid driver's license and ability to travel as required.
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to security protocols.
