Position Summary
The Intermediate Estimator is responsible for producing accurate, detailed estimates for residential roofing and exterior restoration projects, including insurance claims.
Reporting to the Commercial Sales Manager, this role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across teams to ensure estimates are competitive, compliant, and aligned with company revenue goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect properties and assess damage for roofing and exterior projects.
- Develop clear, detailed scopes of work.
- Prepare accurate estimates using company pricing and estimating software.
- Complete measurements, documentation, and insurance-related submissions.
- Communicate with homeowners, insurance adjusters, and internal teams.
- Follow up on estimates to support project conversion.
- Coordinate with production to ensure scopes are accurate and executable.
- Prepare project documentation for handoff to production.
- Ensure estimates align with company standards and insurance requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve accuracy, efficiency, and profitability.
Performance Expectations

Qualifications
- 8+ years’ experience in roofing, siding, or exterior restoration estimation.
- Strong estimating and insurance claims experience.
- Knowledge of roofing systems and exterior applications.
- Experience with Xactimate or similar software preferred.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and estimating tools.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
Work Environment
- Mix of field inspections and office work.
- Travel within Calgary and surrounding areas.
- Outdoor work in varying conditions.

Experience:
- Xactimate: 5 years (preferred)
- Construction Estimating or Sales: 8 years (required)
Licence/Certification:

- HAAG Certification (preferred)
